Tegral Building Products Ltd.

Since its formation in 1936, Tegral Building Products has made a distinctive contribution to the Irish building industry. It has supplied the industry with a wide range of quality roofing and cladding materials that includes fibrecement and quarried slates, clay tiles, profiled sheeting and façade cladding boards.

The establishment of a native cement industry in the mid 1930's encouraged Tegral's development. Using the Hatschek process, Portland cement, fibres and water are combined to create stable, durable and lightweight building products.

Tegral joined the worldwide Etex Group in 1988. The Etex group is an industrial holding company and a specialist in manufacturing and marketing building materials. The group has 92 affiliated companies across 42 countries and employs more than 13,500 people. As part of this international group, Tegral benefits from the best technical research available globally and the financial strength to continue investment in Tegral's Irish operation.

Tegral manufacture the ThrutonePlus range of slates (as seen on TV) in Athy, Co. Kildare and market them throughout the island of Ireland via a countrywide distribution network of Builders' Merchants.

All of Tegral's products are manufactured to the highest international standards. Tegral ThrutonePlus slates are a Guaranteed Irish product manufactured under the ISO 9001 Quality Management System certified by both NSAI and BSI and in accordance with the European Norm EN492. Tegral is also certified with the environmental standard ISO 14001 and also succeeded in achieving the 'Excellence Through People' award, Ireland's national standard for human resource development.

Tegral Building Products Ltd. is a member of Octabuild which is a grouping of eight companies who all conduct their business independently of each other. Each company has a solid manufacturing base in Ireland, are market leaders in their sectors and operate to the highest technical and management standards.
